The Executive Impact Code™

Executive Impact is not a personality trait. It’s a learnable sequence of behaviors to equip you with authority. We have codified the vague, mysterious soft-skills of Executive Presence, into a practical, measurable sequence of behaviors.

Credibility

Results are only half the battle.

Move beyond data to ensure your value is seen and felt by decision-makers. It is not about bragging; it’s about establishing a rock-solid reputation that survives scrutiny.

Confidence

Confidence is a learnable behavior.

We skip the fluff, and focus on ‘strategic authenticity’ - knowing which parts of your natural style to amplify to command a room, even when the pressure is high.

Influence

Navigate the politics.

Act as a Sherpa through the complex dynamics of F1000 organizations. Learn to mobilize teams and influence partners, even when you don’t manage them directly.

The VISKA Brief™

A bi-weekly leadership newsletter for STEM executives and directors in Fortune 1000 organizations, delivering one strategic behavioral insight every two weeks to accelerate the path from technical excellence to executive influence.

An excerpt from a recent newsletter:

An SVP of R&D spent 6 months building the case for a strategic pivot.  The data was irrefutable.  The competitive analysis was thorough.  The ROI projections were conservative.

The board meeting lasted 12 minutes.  His recommendation wasn't adopted.

His question:  "I had everything they asked for.  What am I missing?"

The answer:  Technical insight and strategic influence operate on different frequencies.  Your data reached the room.  Your judgment didn't.

Why This Happens: The Influence Gap

At the VP level and above, influence isn't about having the right answer.  It's about making your technical judgment legible at the altitude where business decisions get made.

Technical leaders operate at three levels:

Level 1: The Work | The molecule, the algorithm, the technical excellence that earned the promotion.

Level 2: The Team | Mobilizing people to execute.  Managing timelines, budgets, deliverables.

Level 3: The Table | Shaping the business decisions that determine what gets funded and what the organization prioritizes for the next 18-24 months.

The pattern: Most executives master Level 1 early.  They manage Level 2 competently by director.  But Level 3 requires a different operating system, and most are still running Level 1 software.

The gap:

  • You're presenting conclusions.  They need your thinking process.

  • You're proving you're right.  They need to trust you'll navigate uncertainty.

  • You're optimizing for precision.  They need clarity under ambiguity.

The executive table isn't asking, "Is this analysis correct?"

They're asking, "Can this person help us see around corners we don't yet know exist?"
